THE RIVER MAAS AND RIVER LAKES
Discover the treasure trove of predatory fishing
Fishing the River Maas and river lakes
The Maas and adjacent lakes in Brabant. This river system is not only known for good numbers of predators, but especially for the sheer average size of these fish. We offer an active and versatile way of fishing, mostly casting both hard and soft baits. All year round you can catch zander, pike, and perch. During the warmer months, we also focus on the asp: without a doubt the fastest predator of Dutch waterways. Seeing an asp slam your surface lure is an experience you will never forget!
When temperatures drop in the autumn, we start targeting monster perch. Thanks to the crystal-clear water and great food supply, these fish grow larger and fatter than anywhere else in The Netherlands (and for that matter in the rest of the world). So, if you’re dreaming of catching a 3 lb or fatter perch, then the Maas and connected gravel pits are the place to be. Our guides offer various finesse techniques, including the Carolina rig, Ned rig, tubes and casting twitch baits. If you want to be assured of catching large numbers, the hunt for big perch is probably not your thing. Quality is way more important than quantity. But once you've hooked such a giant – perch of 50 centimetres and more are no exception - then you know that it has been more than worth the effort!
